Former Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials), SAIL
Three and a half decades at the helm of India's steel industry — from the shop floor of Bhilai to the main board of a Maharatna enterprise. Now bringing that judgment to the boardrooms, plants, and projects that need it most.
Shri Arvind Kumar Singh is a metallurgical engineer from BIT, Sindri, who joined the Steel Authority of India Limited in 1987 as a Management Trainee at the Bhilai Steel Plant — and rose, over thirty-five years, to the main board as Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials).
“He has worked across SAIL's integrated steel plants and contributed immensely to improving plant operations and productivity.”
Along the way he served as Executive Director (Works) of the IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur, and built deep, hands-on command of coke ovens, iron & steel making, continuous casting, and rolling — as well as the capital projects and raw-material strategy that keep an integrated plant running. Few advisors have stood where he has stood: at every level, from trainee to board.
